Social Workers Sydney

Social Work

From offering emotional support to assisting with discharge planning and connecting patients with necessary resources, our social workers ensure that patients and their families receive comprehensive care and support throughout their healthcare journey.

Benefits of Social Work

Social work holds a vital role in offering essential support to both you and your family as you navigate the complexities that come after an injury, illness, or disability.

What's involved

Working together with you, a social worker will use a motivational approach to understand what you need specifically. They’ll help you adapt to your “new normal” after changes due to injury, illness, or disability. Our team will guide you as you reintegrate into your community or connect with support systems that might be new to you.

Our social workers can help you in different ways, such as:

Support, counselling and advice for you and your unpaid carers.
Practical advice and advocacy related to benefits, entitlements, and finances.
Psychosocial assessment of impacts of illness or disability on your life.
Assistance with navigating funding and support systems including the NDIS.
Adjustment support and counselling related to life changes.
Assessment and support to access services in your community.
Psychosexual counselling to support a person’s sexual needs and function.
