Dr. Anuka Parapuram completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Wales, United Kingdom. She is a distinguished visiting medical officer at Royal Rehab Private Ryde, Royal Rehab Private Petersham (formerly known as MetroRehab), and Woolcock Neurosleep Clinic. Dr. Parapuram has a profound focus on rehabilitation for Parkinson’s disease and oncology rehabilitation.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Parapuram is actively involved in teaching and serves as a trainee supervisor at Royal Rehab Private Petersham and a clinical tutor with The University of Sydney Medical School. Her extensive contributions include holding honorary roles within the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation, including treasurer of the NSW Branch of AFRM, exam convenor, and a member of the Fellowship Clinical Exam Committee. She currently serves as a member of the Court of Examiners and Cancer Rehabilitation Special Interest Group within the faculty, and she is also the Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee at Royal Rehab Private Petersham.
Dr. Parapuram’s dedication extends to both Inpatient and Day Programs, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the Reconditioning inpatient and outpatient programs. Her areas of interest also encompass Orthogeriatric and Cancer rehabilitation.
In addition to her clinical achievements, Dr. Parapuram has held several Honorary Roles in the NSW Branch of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) and currently serves as a member of the Board of Assessments of AFRM and the Clinical Exam Working Party. Her comprehensive expertise and commitment to enhancing rehabilitation services have earned her well-deserved recognition in the field.
